Our Story
Based in the suburban Philadelphia area, Tri-State Training and Safety Consulting offers customized, hands-on training programs tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals, educators, corporate offices, extended care facilities, and the general public. With a team of highly experienced instructors from emergency response and medical backgrounds, we bring real-world knowledge directly to your training environment.

Meet The Founder

Kevin Kerns founded Tri-State Training while working as a full-time EMT and firefighter in the suburban Philadelphia area. With over 25 years of experience, his background includes roles as a 911 dispatcher and critical care liaison, as well as playing a key role in the development of CPR training nationwide.
In 2013, Kevin created the Tri-State brand of CPR, a guideline-compliant program designed for non-medical professionals. As a father of three, he is dedicated to ensuring children are trained in CPR and that sports and play areas are equipped with first aid kits and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Today, Kevin and his team serve the Philadelphia area and many major U.S. cities, including Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Jacksonville, and New Orleans.
