Your Path to Becoming an Instructor
Getting certified to teach follows three clear steps. We support you through each one.
Hold a Current Provider Card
Start with a current CPR or BLS provider certification. You need to be confident in the skills before you teach them, and we can get you certified first if needed.
Complete Instructor Training
Learn how to run a class, coach hands-on skills, evaluate students, and manage course paperwork and equipment.
Teach and Get Certified
Demonstrate your teaching in a monitored session, then earn your instructor certification and start leading classes of your own.
FROM PROVIDER TO EDUCATOR
What You Will Learn
Instructor training goes beyond the clinical skills and teaches you how to lead a classroom. The course covers:
How to run a certification class from start to finish
Teaching and coaching hands-on CPR and AED skills
Using instructor materials, videos, and lesson plans
Evaluating students and conducting skills testing fairly
Managing manikins, AEDs, and classroom equipment
Handling course paperwork, rosters, and certification cards
Building confidence in front of a group and answering tough questions
You will practice teaching in front of a certified instructor trainer and get direct feedback, so you walk out ready to lead a class, not just pass a test.

Who Should Become an Instructor
Instructor training is a strong fit for people who already know CPR and want to teach it. It works well for:
Nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals
Safety officers and workplace training coordinators
Firefighters, first responders, and military members
Teachers, coaches, and school staff
Gym owners, lifeguards, and fitness professionals
Anyone looking to start a side business teaching CPR
CPR instructor training is designed for experienced providers who are ready to teach. If you already hold a current CPR or BLS card and want to certify others, run classes at your organization, or start teaching in your community, this is your next step. We take you from confident provider to certified instructor.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need before I can take instructor training?
You need a current CPR or BLS provider certification in the discipline you want to teach. If your card has lapsed or you need to certify first, we can handle that before your instructor course so you arrive ready.
How long does it take to become an instructor?
The instructor course itself typically runs one to two days, followed by teaching a monitored class to complete your certification. We can walk you through the full timeline based on the credential you are pursuing.
What can I do once I am a certified instructor?
You can teach certification classes, issue cards to your students, train your own staff in-house, and even build a business teaching CPR in your community. Many of our instructors teach at their workplace, gym, school, or on their own.
Do you offer instructor training for groups or organizations?
Yes. If your organization wants several people certified to teach, we bring instructor training on-site and certify your group together. This is a popular option for hospitals, schools, and large employers.
Which certification will I be able to teach?
We align your instructor training with the credential you need, whether that is our Tri-State Training program, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross. Tell us your goal at booking and we will set you on the right path. Instructor training is held at each of our centers. Our headquarters is in Folsom, PA, with additional locations in Allentown, Doylestown, King of Prussia, and Langhorne in Pennsylvania, and in Marlton, New Jersey. You may schedule at whichever location is most convenient.
